Whilst creating my add-on for GTA, Somewhere, it became apparent I'd need some missions. It was always my intent to learn to write missions myself, but as the cars and map sucked up all my time I thought I'd get some expert help. So why not drag the best damn mission.ini scripter around into the plan? Sounds good.
So I did! Nick, who has a long list of acheivements in the GTA field, including various sites, editors and probably most famously the outstanding Ransom mod, seemed quite keen so he wrote me a set of missions.
Then as things progressed I decided I wanted a few more missions. With the map finally complete and the cars all but done I had more time and gave it a shot. It was suprisingly easy, and after a bit of practice it becamse obvious the hardest part of mission scripting is coming up with a decent, enjoyable mission to script! But that bit you'll have to figure out yourselves, this site is just to teach you how to realise your ideas.
Anway, as I was creating my missions I had a lot of questions, which Nick very kindly answered. He had also been writing a couple of guides, so I thought it might be an idea to put his guides and the answers to my questions down in print so everyone else can get at them. And here we are.
Nick and I currently have other commitments, so don't expect this site to be updated daily. However I can guarantee that unless the source code is released GTA mission editing will never change, so this site will stay as a resource for you budding mod makers. Hopefully a few new tutorials will be added when we get time to write them.
Until then just have a rummage around the site, do Nick's excellent 7 day guide and get programming. It's really quite easy once you get started :-)
